Michael R. Schacht founded Schacht Law Office in Bellingham, WA in 2001, after over a decade in practice.
Mike’s background in electrical engineering and experience in the electrical, mechanical and simple chemical arts enables him to understand your technology. In addition, Mike can help you select and register trademarks and obtain foreign patents and trademark registrations.
Associate relationships
Schacht Law Office has established associate relationships with a number of general practice law firms. Mike is sensitive to the limits of his practice and takes care to advise his clients to consult general counsel when legal problems or issues are outside of our practice area.

Michael Schacht
Owner & Patent Attorney
After graduating from the University of Notre Dame in 1982 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mike Schacht worked for Westinghouse for four years as a field engineer, specializing in airborne electronic warfare systems. Mike graduated from cum laude from Seattle University School of Law in 1989. He was registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in 1989. After graduation, Mike worked for one year at Adachi International, a Japanese patent law firm located in Nagoya, Japan and was admitted to the District of Columbia Bar in 1990. Mike was admitted to the Washington State Bar in 1991. A native of Bellingham, Washington, Mike returned to his hometown in 1991 to live with his wife Lila and their sons James, Erik, and Stefan.
